MaxxTraxx

Combined Release Notes 6.2.0.0 -
7.0.0.0
February 6, 2017
(Right Click on this page to Print)
These release notes are composed of many customer requested
features that have been added to MaxxTraxx since Version 6.2.0.0 up until the
present release of 7.0.0.0. This is by no means a list of all new features (as
there are hundreds of other ones that were too tiny to be of any use in this
document) and certainly doesn't include the thousands of design changes and bug
fixes our staff made to the program. To list those would include a document
that would be over 500 pages long. So to create something that was somewhat
readable, we condensed it to these pages.
If you had submitted requests that did not make into this
document, don't despair as there is a good chance that your request made it
into the MaxxTraxx software but wasn't reported here. If that is the case,
please look for it in the area of MaxxTraxx you would expect to find it. You most
likely will be surprised to see that it has been added, changed or fixed.
Unfortunately, all customer requests have not yet been
integrated into MaxxTraxx. Be assured we spend every single day adding,
changing or fixing the program to meet your needs and preferences, but we have
many customers and the list is long.
If your feature didn't make it, we have created a venue for
you to further the likelihood that it will be added at a later date. In fact,
you can push it up the development schedule by looking to see if it is in the
new FEATURE VOTING Section of MaxxTraxx under the HELP Menu at the top of the program.
If it is there, then vote for it. Each shop gets 20 votes each month that they
can spread over as few or as many feature requests in the list. If you find
your request is not in the list, then you can request that it gets put onto the
list by clicking again on the HELP Menu and choose "Submit Request for Support"
(this starts a support ticket) and then click the "Request Feature" button on
the new Ticket Form and submit away. Or you can send us an email with your
request that will be evaluated and placed on the list if it meets the criteria
of being useful for most users and does not cause the loss of efficiency in the
program. The features that get the most votes will be put at the top of our
development list and worked on accordingly.
Below is the Release Notes list of many of the new features
that have been put into MaxxTraxx since version 6.2.0.0. Have fun reading!!!
Customers, Vehicles and Invoicing
- Zero dollar invoices now show in red on the
Customer Source and Return Visit report and a legend on the bottom of the page
shows telling the user why the zero amounts are in red.
- Added Service Intelligence integration by eAutoclub.
- MaxxTraxx now checks to see if the part is on an open RO or part invoice and does not allow you to delete it if it is.
- Added quotes back to the history list on the bottom of the schedule form and it now allows you to convert the quote to an RO from that list also.
- Put message on customer form that shows when the form has limited editing allowed on it, like when it is called from the RO or the schedule instead of calling it from the customer browse list.
- Added fields to the JobSolds records to track who added the reason for service to the RO, and who made it into a recommendation or sub estimate.
- Added ability to change the service writer assigned to a labor on the invoice labor and menu labor forms.
- Technician column on the repair order changes to purple when the technician is clocked into the RO and green when the labor is marked as complete.
- Added refresh button to the repair order to refresh the tree view, labor and part lists (the F5 key refreshes also). Button is on the top right side of the form just above the tree view. This only refreshes the lists, not the InvoiceHeader record so that unsaved changes to the form won't be overwritten.
- Added CFNA, GE Money, Goodyear, Voyager and Wright Express payment methods.
- Integrated signature capture for credit card processing through Merchant Partners.
- Added new form that shows when making RO item into a recommendation or sub estimate that allows you to see the details and edit the description.
- Created new form to ask for recommendation due date that shows after you select Ok on the form to edit the description, or after you select a new job to make into a recommendation.
- When a free form note without a job category is made into a recommendation or sub estimate, the program asks for the category.
- Added ability to change the service writer assigned to the reason for service.
- Added new report to print recommended services using the "Print" button on the list of recommended services for the vehicle.
- Added company logo / company address to the top of the sub estimate and recommended services reports. Same logo and rules as the one that prints on the RO.
- Added ability to change the due date on the edit recommendation form.

- RO now allows you to add a kit using the "Kits" button if there are no reasons for service on the RO.
- Added options to the RO Setup page of the Repair Order and Part Invoices Setup form to turn on/off printing job totals and part/labor totals on the RO.
- Added ability to set the number of characters uses when searching for kits using the engine.
- Added setup options for default kit type, use model, use sub model and use engine fields when the kit form is opened from an RO.
- Added "Find" button to the bottom of the vehicle list on the customer form and appointment wizard that allows you to filter the vehicles for the customer by license, unit # or year/make/model.

- Added Document handling for Customers, Vehicles or Repair Orders. You can now attach photos, scans or almost any documents to MaxxTraxx.
- Created Android Tablet application that will attach photos that you take with your Android phone or tablet directly to Repair Orders in MaxxTraxx. You can also update vehicle mileage from the app.. This needs to be connected to the same network that MaxxTraxx is connected to.
- Added Form to select vehicle will now choose the closest match to the existing vehicle in the year, make, model, sub model and engines table if you reselect a vehicle.

- Added new setup switch to the RO setup page to prompt for service writer when the RO form is opened, closed, etc.
- Added new setup switch to the Part Invoice setup page to prompt for service writer when the PI form is opened, closed, etc. NOTE: The part invoice is using the settings on the RO setup page for "Ask For Repair Order Information" to determine when to ask for the source and service writer. It's always been this way but it seems confusing and we probably should clean that up.
- Changing the service writer on the appointment form when you are set to pay service writers by RO now updates the service writer on the RO and all reasons, labors and parts on it.
- Added VIN display on the vehicle form that shows the last 8 characters in bold red.

- Added feature to mark a recommendation as declined and select a reason why. There is a new "Customer Declined" checkbox on the form when converting a request for service into a recommendation. Checking that will bring up a list of reasons to choose from.
- Added popup window to ask if the service was declined when making a reason for service into a recommendation.
- Added declined fields to the save recommendations table for RO history.
- Added separate setup to print labor service hours on part invoices. "Print Labor Service Hours On Part Invoices" check box on the RO Setup form, Part Invoices tab in the Part Invoice Preferences section. Initially this will default to whatever the RO setup is set to during the update, but can be changed separately as needed.
- Added ability to attach a picture to a part, customer and vehicle record. There is a picture button on the form that allows you to select a picture from the pending documents folder, and it will copy that into the \Pictures\Parts, \Pictures\Customers, or \Pictures\Vehicles folder. If the picture already exists in that folder you are warned but can select to overwrite it. You can also type in a name for the file instead of selecting it if it already exists in the folder, or if you want to note an image file attached to the record but do not want to have that image in the MaxxTraxx folder (for customers who want to export the parts list for their website and have it link to an image on their web server).

- Added new interface for the Tire Quote that now allows you to choose tires in the list instead of having to add them to a separate quote list.
- Tire quote now allows you to pick more than one tire to add to the invoice. All tires selected in the list are added to the RO.
- Tire quote now allows you to search for front and rear tire sets and add them to the RO at the same time.

- Added checkbox on the Tire Quote form so you can choose to match front and rear tires into sets, or view them in the list separately. Front tires show in alternating green background, rear tires show in alternating blue background.
