MaxxTraxx Pro CE FAQs
Q. Occasionally when I start MaxxTraxx Pro CE, I will get a message stating that “MaxxTraxx could not get your registration information and is running under a grace period set to expire in 30 days.” My subscription is current. Why am I getting that warning? A. Don’t be concerned. It has nothing to do with your subscription. It has to do with your internet connectivity. Each time a workstation starts MaxxTraxx, the system reaches out to our registration server to verify registration and look for any new newsletters or updates. If for some reason your system is not able to reach our server at that point in time, you will get that warning. Usually, the next time you start the program it will be cleared up. But in the worst case scenario, we have 30 days to find the problem in connectivity. Q. In Maxx CE, am I able to set up a customer to always be discounted by a set dollar or percent amount? A. Not currently, but it is in the planning stages and you should see it in the near future.
Q. I laid an employee off and I want him to stop showing on my list when I do payroll, how can I do this? A. Go to Accounting, Payroll, Employee List, edit the employee you laid off, click on payroll beneath options, check the box that says Suspend Pay.
Q. I have a tech that is not showing up on my list to assign to R/O labors. A. Go to Payroll, Employee List, edit the employee you want to show as tech, click on miscellaneous beneath options, and check the box that says “Is Tech”.
Q. How do I change (edit) customer information while in a repair order? A. Click on the Customer Name at the top of the repair order. Q. I entered the wrong year and make of a customers vehicle and now I’ve opened a repair order, how can I correct it? A. Click on the vehicle at the top right of the repair order, click the tab at the bottom right to reselect year, make, model and engine. Click ok.
Q. I am trying to make a deposit of the cash I took in but when I go to make a deposit there is nothing on the list, why? A. Cash is not listed separately. At the bottom of the Make a Deposit screen is the sum of all cash taken in plus what was in your drawer to begin the day. Input the amount of cash you wish to deposit and post and this amount will decrease.
Q. In Maxx CE, how do I enter a check manually and not print it? A. Go to Banking and Write a Check. Uncheck the box that says “To Be Printed” then enter the check number.
Q. In Maxx CE, why does Napa not work in a Quick Quote? A. Napa requires vehicle information including engine detail. So a Quick Quote without selecting a vehicle shows the option as Grayed Out.
Q. In Maxx CE, I have a PO that it will not allow me to view under View Closed Vendor Invoices? A. Go to Parts Orders and verify that the PO is converted to a Vendor Invoice and is closed. Then view Closed Vendor Invoices under Restock Parts.
Q. In Maxx CE, when I void an RO paid with credit card, does the card get refunded at that time? A. If you are using credit card processing in Maxx CE, it does not. When voiding the RO, the credit gets posted to the customer account. To refund the credit, you would need to go to the customer’s account, select Options and choose to refund the credit to the customer. It automatically credits the card used for the initial purchase.
